I am austin John Allen. i’m a Filmmaker based in Central Georgia & NYC.
Some people find their calling in a classroom. I found mine somewhere between the red clay roads of Vidalia, Georgia and in the middle of the Jordanian desert.
I grew up in small-town South Georgia, where you learn early that honesty and hard work aren't optional — they're the baseline.
That upbringing shaped everything about the way I approach filmmaking.
On set, with a client, in the edit — I show up the same way every time: prepared, direct, and genuinely invested in the story I've been trusted to tell.
Over the past decade, that approach has taken me from Central Georgia to New York City, from the coast of Baja California to the streets of Amman, Jordan —
working with multi-million dollar corporations, national non-profits, award-winning law firms, and independent media houses along the way.
I've produced commercial and brand content through Crisp Video Group, one of America's fastest-growing Inc. 5000 companies and the nation's leading video marketing firm for law firms. I also worked with Hundred Films on broadcast content for the 2020 Super Bowl.
I've told stories on 16mm film, on ARRI and RED cinema cameras, and with rare anamorphic lenses that make the world look the way it feels —
wide, cinematic, and alive.
What hasn't changed through any of it is why I do this work: I love telling stories that matter to real people:
A law firm that has fought for injury victims for 40 years has
a story worth telling.
A boutique restaurant pouring everything
into a dining experience deserves to be seen.
A NON-Profit trying to connect with its community has something real to say — and I want to help them say it.
I work primarily as a solo cinematographer and director, which means every project gets my full attention from the first conversation to the final file.
For larger productions, I bring in a trusted crew — but the creative vision, the communication, and the relationship are always mine to hold.
